David Atkinson has won numerous international awards since forming practice more than 30 years ago. In 2011 he was named Lighting Designer of the Year. He studied at the London Academy of Music & Dramatic Art and worked in TV and commercial presentations before entering architectural lighting. 

Peter Fordham started lighting for bands and shows in school and at Imperial College, where he graduated with a degree in electrical and electronic engineering.  After completing the LET Diploma in Light and Lighting, he became passionate about creating designs focused on the user.  He is responsible for lighting in Sainsbury’s, Argos and Habitat.  

Dan Lister is a lighting designer with 20 years of experience with Arup.  leading the lighting team in Yorkshire With a broad range of experience with electrical and natural lighting design in all sectors across the UK and internationally; Dan has development a passion in the creative and technical aspects of lighting for urban environments.

Ruth Kelly Waskett PhD CEng MCIBSE FSLL is a lighting consultant and president elect of the Society of Light & Lighting. She is also a visiting lecturer at the Bartlett School at UCL, with involvement in the MSc in Light & Lighting and MEng in Architectural Engineering. She led the revision of the SLL Daylighting design guide in 2014.

Chris Barnes is maintenance and energy manager at London South Bank University, tasked with achieving the institution’s HEFCE carbon reduction target of 35 per cent. Before this, he managed the engineering department at London ExCeL, which hosted the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Susan Lake attended both Napier University in Edinburgh and Edinburgh College of Art, gaining a Master’s degree in interior design. She was a senior lighting designer at Lighting Design Partnership International and Lighting Design International. She has worked on many award-winning hotel, spa, and corporate headquarters projects.

Guy Young manages office interior fit-outs and refurbs for clients across the UK. His background is in lighting: previously he was lighting solutions director at Mitie and before that, he was the regional project sales manager at Aurora Lighting and UK and Ireland sales manager at major LED supplier Seoul Semiconductor.

Vasiliki Malakasi is an award winning lighting designer, architect and lighting enthusiast with over 15 years of experience on high profile projects. Following her MSc in Light and Lighting at UCL in 2006, she worked for Arup and later GIA Equation. In 2013, Vasiliki set up her own lighting design practice, Idea Design which is based in London and Athens. 

David Mooney has worked in the lighting industry since 1983 as a consultant, electrical engineer and lighting designer. He was the lead designer on the CAA’s Air Traffic Control Centre at Swanwick, working with Zumtobel on the UK’s first digital control system. His career has included stints at BDP, Arup, RMJM and BDSP PB.

Dorit Bagehorn has been a lighting designer with Aecom since 2015. Having worked in building services , she has solely been focusing on specialist architectural lighting since 2010. She has worked on a variety of  prestigious international projects, including hotels and lobbies, residential, restaurants, landscape, retail and bridges.

Dave Tilley provides lighting design, maintenance, energy management, specification and recycling consultancy to the retail and commercial sectors. Clients include John Lewis, Nando’s, The Body Shop, The Bank of England, L’Oréal and the Ministry of Defence. He's a regular speaker at lighting events. 

Nigel Harvey joined Recolight, the lighting industry's compliance body for environmental regulations, in 2009. Since then, the organisation has recycled no fewer than a third of a billion waste lamps.  A passionate environmentalist, he was voted Lux Magazine’s first ever Person of the Year in 2012 for his work on sustainability in the industry.

Mike Collett is owner of the consultancy Exalta Business Growth and has spent the last 40 years involved in International business and lighting. He was the international sales director of exterior lighting manufacturer DZ LIcht and the owner and CEO of Wila Lighting and the Wila Group before setting up his consultancy.

Ian Douglas-Smith BEng has worked in every stakeholder role within the lighting industry and is now a development consultant specialising in IOT based services. He has brought to market many technology firsts for some of Europe's largest end users, He continues to push the boundaries of what is possible. 

Michael Grubb has worked with global brands such as Diageo, McLaren, Amazon and Lavazza to develop their unique ‘language of light’. He was appointed Learning Legacy Ambassador for Lighting for London 2012 Olympics. He has a personal commitment to sustainability which saw him co-found the Re:LIT initiative. He was named UK Lighting Designer of the Year in 2012

Mary Rushton-Beales has more than 30 years experience in lighting and has run her own independent design practice since 1995. Collaboration with design academic Steve Edge of Salvedge sustainable design means that applying biophilic design principles is now a key element of the healthy lit environments she creates.
